Rotary clubs around the world have long exchanged trading flags as a symbol of friendship, connection, and shared service. The Rotary Club of Riverside Sunrise is proud to honor that tradition in a new, environmentally friendly way.

Instead of exchanging a traditional printed fabric banner, we created a virtual trading flag that can be shared digitally through a postcard and QR code. This approach reduces printing, shipping, packaging, and storage while still celebrating the joy of Rotary connection across communities and around the world.

Our virtual flag reflects the spirit of Riverside, California, featuring local landmarks and symbols that tell our club’s story: the Mission Inn, Mt. Rubidoux, citrus blossoms, sunshine, palm trees, and the service-minded heart of Riverside Sunrise Rotary.

This greener banner exchange supports Rotary’s commitment to Protecting the Environment, one of Rotary’s Areas of Focus. It also reminds us that Rotary traditions can evolve while still preserving what matters most: friendship, goodwill, and Service Above Self.
